Clayoquot Action is a non profit organization based out of Tofino determined to protect the biodiversity of Clayoquot Sound. Currently one of their big focuses is to get fish farms out of this pristine sound. They have started an indiegogo crowd funding campaign to to help in their efforts to travel to Norway to make sure Cermaq, the salmon farming giant, understands that they are not welcome here.
Fish farms are something that hits close to home for us. Living on the water we feel so much more in tune with the delicate balance of nature when it comes to the ocean. Adam (my husband and sport fish guide) can attest to the effects of fish farms on wild salmon stocks. I was flattered when Clayoquot Action asked to use my image for their Winter Report cover.
When Adam from Tofician asked me to create a halloween poster for his "Horror at the Shore" party in Tofino, I couldn't help but jump at it. Since I (secretly) love the Walking Dead, Comic Books, Video Games and old B Movies, the design concept came fast!
Here is little 'taste test' of a new project I am working on. I am currently in the process of painting the illustration, but in the meantime, help yourself to a colouring page! There will be more coming soon...
Finally after a busy summer of "coming soon" I have MADE THE TIME to get my site finished up. I was getting a little tired of seeing that holding page, but it has been a busy season here in Tofino. My husband just launched his own sport fishing business and needed my help getting set up, and I took on a new studio space off the boat, Saturday Markets, clients design work and making sure the kids weren't abandoned all summer (oh, and eating way too many donuts)! The town is still busy, but for the most part everyone is getting into autumn mode. I am personally looking forward to cosy days in my new studio getting things done. I have a few ideas (top secret right now) but am looking forward to getting down to it!
Here's a little wharf rat... that was me... all summer... haha!
When I was first asked to collaborate with Marcel from Treehouse Gifts on getting magnets printed, I thought he was crazy BUT these cute little guys have been flying off my table at the Tofino Saturday Market! I figured I may as well get them on the shop as well since the market is quickly coming to an end.

After a few weeks of burying my head in my computer, I am excited to finally see all the boxes and labels for Tofino Soap Company arrive! Each Chakra candle contains a gemstone in the centre and each soap is a work of art. I wanted to make sure the packaging reflected the special nature of the products inside.
I thought I would try something a little different! These one of a kind handprinted trucker hats were created for the Make Merry Market at the Tofino Botanical Gardens in Tofino. At $45 each they sold out fast, but stay tuned as I will be creating more for the Tofino Saturday Market!
Some Posca fun with my daughter's friend's longboard. Her dad made this beautiful board and I felt honoured to paint it... I really wanted to keep some of the wood showing!
Cheer those zany guys from Gabriola Island on as they race without a motor to Alaska!
I am excited to announce that I was chosen to be the 2015 Whale Festival Poster Artist! Here is a little 'process shot' while it in progress in my studio. The final poster will start coming out February 2015 so look out for it! In the meantime lets welcome the whales back from their long journey!
Next time you take your pooch for a walk to Tonquin Beach you have a nice newly decorated bin to put your poop in! My Spawning Salmon image was chosen to be a part of Tofino's town enhancement project, and I'm pretty stoked as I just moved here not too long ago!
