Bull Kelp Forest - Prints + Cards
Bull Kelp Forest - Prints + Cards
Bull Kelp (Nereocystis Iuetkeana) can grow up to 100’ long is characterized by its hollow stipe, round shaped float supporting a number of long straps, each several feet long. You find this treasures in the upper tidal zone from Alaska to California. Bull Kelp is one of the fast growing and largest seaweeds often growing to their massive length in a single season. It is edible believe it or not, and often you see kids on Tofino’s beached whipping them around or towing them as invisible pets. I admit I draw a lot of kelp... I just love the movement in the leafy strands!
